Are You Rejection Sensitive?

July 2019 This was a life-changing encouragement for me. I tend to want to run away when hurt or hide like this turtle might!!  Definitely more apt to take the ‘flight’, not ‘fight’ option but as always the Lord has a better response. Instead of looking inward, look around you to help someone else. The Lord is so faithful to re-direct us in this way!  So often He has distracted me away from myself so much that I come to realize that what I perceived as rejection of myself was something else entirely.

From the journal   .   .   . .            November.   2002

Lord,  When we were in church I was looking for a friend who I wanted to rejoice with concerning some very exciting family news.  My friend responded with “Where’s your mom?”  and left to see my mom.  It’s good that she blesses my mom, but it also hurt me (I think I am rejection sensitive).  Later I talked to You about it and was ashamed of myself for feeling that way.

And I Believe God Said . . . .

This  can help you to be more sensitive to feelings of rejection in others.
Any time you feel rejected, look around for who you can accept.

Lord, is that the only way You can get me to do that?

Understanding has to occur to produce sensitive responsiveness in love.
Trust me.  I accept you and I’ve given you many others who also need acceptance.  Be grateful.
