Naomi’s Person

July 2019 How often I am reminded “It’s Not About You!”  Sometimes it’s a reminder that I’m not important right now or I’m being selfish.  However I find that in relationships when I get hurt it’s so often ‘not about me’.  The other person is going through something or totally distracted by something unrelated to me.

When I was in elementary school, I had 2 close girlfriends.  Monnie Lou and Tanya. We all loved each other but at times each of us would  prefer one over the other.  This would cause hurt feelings for the 3rd wheel.   Sometimes I get that same feeling when with my grown-up friends.

From the journal . . . . 2019

She reminded me of my granddaughter when she was little.  Naomi would have ‘a person’ at any given time and that was the only one she wanted. No one else.  It wasn’t necessarily her favorite person in the world but it was the one she attached to at that particular event.  Sometimes it was me. Sometimes not!

And I Believe God Said . . .

Yes, and there are grown up people who are like that.  You are sometimes. When you saw Pavel and Terry yesterday, you neglected Paval because you wanted to encourage Terry. Afterwards you wondered  if you hurt Paval. Yes, you did and you will make it right. However, this is a lesson. You were hurt yesterday by your friend but I reminded you that it was about her.  Not you. You weren’t ‘her person’ yesterday but you will be again. Just like it was with little Naomi.

Eph. 4:22

  1. I agree we sometimes do this, but sometimes I think we need that one on one attention it reminds us that we are especially loved by God because he treats each of us like his favorite. Sometimes though we are so excited to share with that one person what God is showing us to encourage that person with that we neglect the others that are present, so glad for His grace! Relationships are soooooo hard sometimes!
