August 2019
I remember back in the day when I made all of our bread. One of my favorite parts was after the dough had been rising and it started to form a crusty layer. I would punch it down and knead it until it was all smooth and pliable and I could form it into loaves. Many years later I was reminded of that pleasant memory during a not so pleasant time on my job.
I was having a difference of opinion from an instructional coach on an issue involving my students. It was really getting to me.
From the journal . . . . Novenmber 2007
Rejected! Frustrated! And I don’t feel valued! I don’t think it’s fair to the kids and I don’t know why ‘she’ thinks her way is better .
As I vented to the Lord, I found my heart supernaturally softening toward her.
And I Believe God Said:
Always call on Me and I will take care of your heart.* It is pliable to My touch and when I knead it with My love, it is not so fragile. It feels better to you and I can mold it like playdough.* Always tell Me about your hurts – no matter how small. I will give you beauty for ashes. The oil of joy for mourning. My oil makes you pliable.*
Ezek 11:19-20 Isaiah 64:8 Isaiah 61:3.NASB
God, how awesome You are! Can I give You or build You a tabernacle? (I was relating to Peter during the Transfiguration when he wanted to build Tabernacles for Jesus and His holy companions. Mark 9:5)
And I Believe God Said:
I just want your heart. You see I know when it’s breaking and cracking, but I have the lubricant to keep it in good condition. I have it and I am the one to work it in. You just have to yield to Me everything. Don’t wait for the crusty stage. Come always. Come now.

I love this. “Don’t wait for the crusty stage.”
Amen!
