August 2019
This is like a sequel to ‘Look for the Good’. I wrote it about a month later. This was a time that I clearly saw the right thing to do and had the words and courage to do it.
From the journal . . . . May 2011
In the lunchroom yesterday, I got brave! Miss Scarlett was complaining about Mrs. Peacock who was on another team. Mrs. Peacock was concerned about a potential work scenerio that she wanted to avoid. She talked to Miss Scarlett because Miss Scarlett, though not her boss, had some influence over the situation. Miss Scarlett took exception to the recommendation and was venting her frustration.
Then Mrs. White went on a rant about another co-worker. More negativity.
I felt compelled to speak up concerning Mrs. Peacock. I said to Miss Scarlett “Let it go. Don’t put her in a situation that she’s not comfortable with”. But Miss Scarlett argued her opinion on how it should be. I happened to agree with her but I said, “How good do you think it will turn out if Mrs. Peacock is forced to accept it, feeling the way she does?” Her response was, “I’m just gonna do it my way”.
I feel good that I said something, even though the other two were in agreement with Miss Scarlett, as usual. Mrs. White has been dissing me a lot. Asking what everyone thinks but not asking me. They decide things, then they tell me. Ouch.
Your struggles are not against flesh and blood.
Ephesians 6:12
Thank You Lord. You often tell me that and it makes it so much easier to forgive and continue to love.
