Family Burdens

January 2020 . When I write in my journal, I try not to concern myself about who might read it.  I want to be totally honest with the Lord, since He knows it all anyway. So there are times when I need to do a lot of editing to protect the privacy of my peeps, keep it authentic, and reveal what is relevant to the point.  Several times since I started this Blog, I have contacted friends or family to be sure that they knew what I planned and were okay with it.  So far so good!!!  This entry was concerning family matters that I believe are common to all extended family units.

From the journal. . . . August 2014 (summary)

I had just had a visit with one of my daughters.  We talked about a lot of relational things that were going on in our family. Sibling conflicts, a struggling grandkid, and a marriage issue. The conversations left me with several concerns.  I took the concerns to the Lord by means of my journal.  I asked for wisdom for the parents of the struggling grandchild.  I asked for comfort and conviction in the balance that was needed for the siblings with a conflict. And I prayed for guidance for the couple with marriage issues.

Then I read in Hebrews where I had left off in chapter 12.  I came away with , ‘Let God do the sanctifying work.’

And I Believe the Lord said:

Be still and rest in Me.  I know all your hurts and burdens.  They are My burdens as well.  Take My yoke upon you and we will do this together.  The yoke I give is easy and the burden, light.  You can recognize it.  When you feel the heavy burden, you need to side up with Me.  Yoke with Me.  I will lighten the load for you.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30
