January 2020 I’ve discovered as a parent that one never stops being concerned for their children. It doesn’t stop when they turn 18 or leave the house. We no longer have authority over them and are no longer responsible for their actions but that doesn’t lessen the heart strings. And so we pray.
From the journal . August 2014
. . . I was concerned about one of my kids.
Lord, Job prayed and offered sacrifices in case his kids had sinned. (Job 1:5) Lord, You were the final sacrifice needed. Jesus, please bless my five children. I offer time in prayer and love but nothing I offer would be enough for what I want. Lord, You are what they need more than anything; A personal relationship with God. I know that You want that too.
And I Believe God Said:
Why is that so important to you?
Because I love what You and I have. I know that You can handle loving anyone who calls on You. You are what makes life good. Your laws are perfect because You are perfect. You give Your spirit and that greatly affects us. I need, want, and have to have You always. I trust in You for everything. I want that for the 5 and their spouses as well. You have definitely given to Mark and me the 5.
And I Believe God Said:
I give life. I give people to people because of love. Things happen and people react and/or respond. Every event makes a difference. Every personal exchange does something. Every situation is an opportunity to turn to Me. To involve Me with every aspect and detail. It’s a standing invitation.
Lord, I believe. I want to have You involved with everything . I want my children to want that same thing. And if they don’t I want You to be involved anyway. That’s just the truth. It’s what I want but You have Your divine principles and You allow choice. I bow down to You Lord. Let Thy will be done.
