Sure glad I don’t have another ‘Strike’ post! I’d hate to be OUT! This was written a few days after the initial ‘Teacher’s Strike’ concern when I had been going back and forth about whether to join the strike or not. After much prayer and turmoil, I decided to strike.
From the journal. . . . .September 2011
Lord, Thank You for leading me to a decision concerning the strike. What a loving God you are! And so personal to me. While we were picketing, I had many conversations with other Christian teachers about how God helped me through the decision. Julia was listening and I wonder what she thought. Maybe it was a witness to her .
Later some Christian co-workers and I talked about the strike . We agreed that we really needed to pray for a quick and peaceful resolution. So, we set a time and place to meet during lunch break.. I must say I am disappointed that so few teachers actually showed up to pray and I wonder why. Is it because of me personally? Or fear of man maybe?
And I believe God said:
Diane – you stayed with the staff because of love for man. It wasn’t fear of man. A little bit fear of rejection but you stayed because you love the people I have given you. You reject your fear when you talk about Me. True – some don’t want to hear. But daughter, I’ve got your back. Some are respecting you because of the commitment to Me that you wear. When you talked so candidly to your Christian friends in front of Julia, she was listening. Trust Me when you don’t see. It’s a spirit thing!
Proverbs 29:25 NASB
Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man brings a snare. But he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted.

Hi Diane, In church last week we talked about Christ being our “ONE THING” . Being focused on Christ and not having our heart divided among all kinds of other things in our life. Phillipians 3:12-21 You are a great example of that type of Christian. I appreciate that example. The time of prayer you offered at work was special and a blessing to all who attended and to those we prayed for. It helped us all to focus on Christ as part of our work place and to realize he was there with us.
Thank you Kris. Staying focused is always a challenge but so much better for us!!
Blessings. Remember mom always saying that.. She had it right and so do you. You are actively seeking Him daily. Strikes show man’s inability to get along. Most of the teachers (as I read) are democrats. They fear God. I don’t think you went on strike because of all the reasons which were good reasons but poorly presented. You went because you are God’s disciple. He wanted you there and you listened. Julie has been planted with the seed of salvation
Thanks Janie!!! Our mama taught us well!!! And I do pray that Julie finds Jesus!!!
