April 2020
This time of social distancing and perhaps being together more than usual, can be a bit stressful on families and marriages. Peace could be elusive and irritations obvious. That could be a totally new and unwelcome situation for some. Oh God, help!!!!
From the journal. . . . September 2007
I was talking to the Lord about different marriages that were struggling. ..
Lord, I don’t think they have much peace, but my marriage isn’t always peaceful either. I’d say it’s rocky but stable. I think peace with You is the only true peace. I assume You would use un-peace to bring about positive growth. We need to work at peace with each other. Undoubtedly, some personality combinations take more work than others. All to Your glory, I think.
And I Believe God Said:
Peace is a very noble goal. Be at peace with all men as far as you have control. * That doesn’t mean you always agree, nor do you necessarily condone actions or attitudes. Peace and trust go together. Acceptance of people but not of sin. Grace from Me is essential. There will be peace on earth and there is peace in heaven, but it’s hard won. Peace is very deep within. True peace is only possible with Me and being at peace with Me. You won’t have peace apart from Me. So, strive to stay in My presence. That’s where the peace comes from. Within yourself and flowing out to the world, through your relationships.
*If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Romans. 12:18 NIV
Thank You Lord.
As I read this today, this sentence stood out for me: “There will be peace on earth and there is peace in heaven, but it’s hard won.” I understand the hard won peace on earth. It is our struggle. I questioned the peace ‘as it is in heaven’ being hard won. BONG!!! The cross. Peace in Heaven was won by the work on the cross. It is finished, but it was indeed ‘hard won’.
