Good Friday is when we remember the great sacrifice made by God the Father and Jesus the Son. Unselfish love. Giving of one’s self for the highest good of another.
From the journal . . . .April 2020
Lord, President Trump keeps thanking the American people for how they are following the guidelines for social distancing to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Washington State was the first in our country to contract the virus and so we are being noticed as the front runners. We keep getting ‘atta-boys’ for social distancing and how that has slowed the spread of this disease. The word ‘unselfishness’ was mentioned. The President says we have choices and control in how this medical crisis will go. Hmm. God, I know that You ultimately have complete control, but it is interesting to me that we are called to be unselfish for the good of our country. We are to social distance from one another to protect the most vulnerable from this disease. This calls for sacrifices on our part. You call us daily to be unselfish. You always have and You always will.
And I Believe God Said:
When you give up your own life, you will find it. * It is better to give than to receive.* When you give, even secretly, I see it and it pleases Me.* When My people help others and serve unselfishly, it pleases Me. I am glorified and they are happier. Even those who don’t acknowledge Me feel good about helping. They are made in My image and that is why. Those who do acknowledge Me, receive more joy in the giving because I receive the glory. And for those who are committed to Me, their fruit is multiplied even more so. The fruit from My spirit is what flows freely from the believer. More love, more joy and more peace.
