Mark had gotten out of the hospital the day before from knee replacement surgery and we were working together to get him situated.  The medication schedule was hard to figure out but I did it!

From the journal . . . . August 2018

Lord, I didn’t ask You specifically but each day I believe it’s understood that You will lead me. So, when I’ve done something that seems ‘smart’ I know You were leading, even if I didn’t think to ask!*  I can mess up very easily, so I know it’s Your influence when I do right.

And I Believe God Said:

You surrender to Me every day. Remember to do it every moment. Sometimes things disappoint you, even though I have led you.  No reason to lose heart.  This life you live is temporary*, but the joys you receive are a taste of eternity. The trials are in this life only*, for those who trust in Me.  For those who refuse to trust Me, this life is only the beginning of trials.*  They need to turn to Me while I can be found.*

This reminded me of a quote from Randy Alcorn’s book, Heaven . Pretty profound.

“For the believer, this world is as close to Hell as you will ever be.  For the non-believer this world is as close to Heaven as you will ever be.”
