Have you ever known someone who seems to be perfect! They are kind, understanding, wise and cheerful. They are so popular and everyone seems to want to be their friend. Then while in a safe environment, that person reveals all of their insecurities. You say to yourself, “How can they possibly not recognize how respected or loved they are?”
From the Journal . . . . December 2008
I was talking to the Lord about a loved one who was having relational insecurities. “Oh Lord, if Julie could see how loveable she is . . . she would be so surprised. It reminds me of someone with an eating disorder. Kourtney doesn’t see herself rightly. She is dangerously thin, almost grotesquely so, but instead, she sees fat. Julie is so lovable but that’s not what she sees. ”
Lord – I’m wondering if this is a part of my talk to the women for the January meeting. Seems to be a faulty self-perception theme. Lord, I love You. If this is the direction for it – please continue to show me.
And as so often happens, the Lord responded about something else!
And I believe God Said:
Be aware of Me and relax. Love and encourage your people. Keep your family first. They need your love, encouragement and support.* Look, observe and be sincere. They may joke and they may sometimes hurt your feelings, but they need your words. Kind words build strong hearts. Remember, it takes a lot to counteract harsh words. Don’t hold back the good thoughts you think about people. Be personal. Be honest. Be generous. You worry about comparisons. You don’t want to hurt someone, when you build up another. Love righteousness and don’t apologize for it. You can love unconditionally, without condoning evil. Always seek My best for your people. Love righteousness. Love mercy. They go hand in hand.

I think what the Lord was doing here was pointing out to me that I also have relational insecurities. Everyone does. KIND WORDS BUILD STRONG HEARTS. I was told in a prophesy once that the body of Christ needed encouragement. The Bible is full of encouraging words. That is a sign that we really do need encouragement. For some reason, it seems that critical words last longer and repeat themselves more often than the encouraging words. So I say, if you have kind thoughts about someone, go ahead and tell them!! Maybe they have been overloaded with negative words.

We tend to look around and see others as more or better or smarter than we are. It’s so much better if we have a confident relationship with God at least, that’s the goal and yes do tell people truthful encouraging things because we should build each other up! Thank you for the reminder Diane ❤
Thank you Diane for your steadfastness in encouraging us to realize where our true power lies
