The Lord loves all people. He wants to save all people and all people have the opportunity to be saved. Just believe in Him. Generally speaking, we call people who believe in Jesus, Christians. I often make assumptions about people by their appearance or demeanor but that isn’t necessarily a clue to what they believe or where they are spiritually.
From the journal . . . . May 2018
The renter, Helen died. She was Kyle’s girlfriend. I went and talked to her once or twice. It was not as often as I should have. She was obese, more than anyone I have ever known. She could barely move. Lord, I don’t know if she knew You. I sure hope so. I suspect so because she was a nice person and with the heartache of her physical prison, she must have needed You desperately. She was much on my heart years ago, maybe 2006 or 2007.
I just said ‘Hi’ to my next-door neighbor. I don’t think they’re married, but they have been together for a long time. Lord, I wonder what You think of common-law marriage.
And I Believe God Said:
You can’t assume that people who are nice or living in sin are a certain way spiritually. In fact, you don’t need to judge. In every interaction you have, you should be aware of My presence. There’s potential and there are opportunities. You saw Billy Brown at the National Day of Prayer gathering. He proclaims the good news all around Tacoma. You are skeptical in general, but especially concerning your daughter.*
Years before when he was in his 20’s, he tried to date our teenage daughter.
Whether good or bad the gospel is being preached * and he is faithful to do it. He also helps at the grandkids’ AWANA group. He has his part to play. Pray for him.
Phil 1:18
Of course, Lord. That makes sense. I should worry less about another person’s sincerity and just pray. Billy Brown is an inspiration because of his bold devotion to Jesus. He is quite conspicuous, wears flamboyant clothes, and he has a lot of hype. However, he draws attention and uses it to testify about You. Some people are drawn to You in that way! That’s a good thing!
