When I write in my journal, it is pretty raw, especially if I am upset. I edit it before publishing of course, sometimes more than others. However, it is still my feelings and thoughts to God. We all have thoughts, dreams, and expectations for our children’s and grandchildren’s future. God, in His infinite wisdom, gives us choices for our lives. It’s tough on parents because our kids have their own lives and make their own choices. That is God’s plan for them and we need to accept that it may not be what we had hoped for.
From the journal . . . . December 2017
I was crying out to God concerning a granddaughter’s life choices. She was changing and it was heart breaking.
“Oh Lord. Anita has rejected Your plan for her and I know she won’t be satisfied. Lord, have mercy on her. Change her heart Lord. Heal what is wrong. Open her eyes and heart to Yourself and the truth. * I don’t know where she is with You. I don’t even know how to find out. Maybe talk to Rebecca? I wonder if Anita ever really committed to You. I remember she was excited about the Christian Youth Conference she had gone to. Rebecca never said anything but things about You aren’t comfortable for us anymore.”
*John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. NASB
And I Believe God Said:
You share My grief for when a child turns away. It’s not over though. Your love is the reason you grieve. Love is also a reason to rejoice. Sometimes you are sad and miss your mom but mostly you rejoice for her and Me. Love is also the reason to hope. Love unconditionally and never lose hope.* You feel sad about Rebecca because you love. You feel sad about Anita because you love. Love is a good thing. Hope for them because you love them. Hope for all of them. Love and pray for the people I’ve given you.
Oh Lord, such good words You give me! Thank You.
Rejoice in those who follow the truth of Me. Rejoice because you love.
1 Cor 13:7 Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. AMP.

Thank you Diane! It is a crazy culture we live in and our kids and grandkids in a lot of ways have been influenced by it, I’m doing the Daniel study by Beth Moore right now, what a culture shock for Daniel and friends, this last week was on integrity and resolve. Sometimes we will be surrounded by family or co workers who don’t believe or are not living their confessed faith, but we have to resolve to continue to be who we really are (a Christ follower) love is the key, after all Jesus said to love your enemies, how do we do that? We pray and keep bringing them to the feet of Jesus
Well Said Debi! Thank you so much for responding. I know you are a faithful prayer!! Pray pray pray!!! I’m going to have to investigate this blog to figure out why I miss when people reply. I love you!!
