He’s the Catch

Writing down your thoughts can be very therapeutic.   I am aware of that, even apart from God.  For me, it is a definite coping skill but more importantly, it is a means of communicating with God.  When I sense Him speaking, most often He does it in my journal writing.  What I find amazing, is when I read it later, even years later, it can touch me in a supernatural and very relevant way.  Amazing Lord!

From the journal . . . .    January  2019

Lord -Amazing God. Whenever I sit down to journal, I am aware of You. And I am so grateful to You. When I worked on the Mission Project* this morning, I was amazed at how often you speak to me personally.

*I call the process of putting my journal notes and God’s personal words to me into the computer, ‘The Mission Project’.  It really has been ‘a mission’ since the 1990’s

Lord, when I am upset and needy, You counsel me as a counselor or maybe a therapist.  If it was just me talking to myself . . . how could that help?  When I reread what I say to You and how You respond, I know in my knower, that it was not me responding to myself!   So, as always, I will trust you.

And I Believe God Said:

You think that if I speak to you too often it will make My words ordinary. Remember,  I spoke and the world was created.  There is life in My words.  You spoke to Barry today regarding how I care about him and his kitchen table.  You spoke with conviction.  You spoke My words from Psalm 50. That if he would call on Me – I will answer and he will honor Me. *    He thinks honoring Me is what he ‘has’ to do.  My gifts are freely given.  He thinks there’s a catch. There is, he’s the catch!

Psalm 50:15 “Call upon Me on the day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will honor Me.” NASB

“Oh Lord.  You are a great catch Yourself!  However, a ‘catch’ implies action on the catcher’s part, so it’s pretty clear about who does the ‘catching’.  You make us ‘catchers’ of men.  I like the idea of my assisting in the catch of Barry and my friends, Tanya and Monnie Lou.”
