When You Pray, You Love

When I first came to know the Lord back in 1975, prayer was always an important part. By 1980, I had five little kids and took undivided time for prayer, whenever I could find it. When I started my teaching career, my time was always first thing in the morning, sometimes barely thirty minutes.  Now that I am retired, the time and desire has more than tripled. It is what He has called me to in this time of my life.

From the journal . . . . October 2019

Lord, one of the most, maybe the most, important purpose I have in life, is prayer.  Every day I spend a lot of time in prayer.  I have to believe that is Your calling on my life.  Sometimes I’m not as into it, or my faith is weak.  I wonder if it’s pointless, but Lord – I’m pretty sure that is a lie from the enemy. I pray Your verses, that You have given me to pray, and I pray for my peeps, whom You have given me. And I pray what you lay on my heart to pray.

And I Believe God Said:

It is a good thing you are praying.  I see you. The time, passion and energy you give is never in vain.  Do not believe the doubt that comes in.  You know Me.  I have called you.  I have called you to pray. * That is the best thing for you to do.  Do it for Me.  I use you for other purposes, as well.  Love My people and the people in your world.  When you pray, you love and because you love, you pray.  Do not be ashamed of this calling.  Do not apologize for it.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. 2 Chronicles 7:14. Phil 4:6.

Thank You Lord.  You always inspire me to go on.

That’s because it is worthwhile.  You feel you are in a slump. The feeling is temporary, you know.  The cares of the world are draining you; grandchildren, children, siblings, nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and many other people groups that I have put on your heart. Continue to care.  Bring them to Me in prayer* and give thanks.  I’ve got you. Keep doing the work. Prayer, blog, love and service*.

Matt 11:29. Gal 6:9

Ephesians 6:18. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. NIV

    1. Angela, how sweet to hear from you and thank you for the compliment!! I’m sorry this response is so late. The responses don’t seem to come to me right away. I need to do some investigating. I hope you are well. Love you!!

  2. Thank you Diane! Good to know that others get weary in this prayer life, but so important and yes always the loving thing to do, I do appreciate your steadfastness, so does the Lord! Please pray for all believers to continue in prayer and not give up especially in these times!?❤
