Often when I ask the Lord a question, He doesn’t answer it directly. I wonder if it’s because my questions aren’t always relevant. We know that adultery is sin, and we know that God hates divorce. The word says He allows it because of the hardness of heart. *
Exodus 20:14 Malachi 2:16. Matt 19:8
From the journal . . . July 2018
. . . Saturday we witnessed a wedding filled with love, hope, and promises. Sunday, we heard of a broken covenant between a pastor and his wife. The word is that the husband had been having an affair for a year and the woman’s husband caught them. Oh, Lord. It’s so, so sad. Children, grandchildren, church families, and friends are all devastated by this news. Its effects are far reaching. God, our whole society suffers with this. I wonder if You hate divorce more than adultery.
And I Believe God Said:
I hate sin. It destroys relationships. I have good plans for married couples, but they both need to surrender and submit to Me to benefit from My blessed plans. * The man spoke rightly when he said, “ It’s not sin because it’s forbidden. It’s forbidden because it is sin.” Sin is never ever good for you or anyone else. Look to Me. Have faith and believe. Encourage the church to have faith in My words and commands. Believe My promises.
Lord, You are good. I will read Your words always!
Ps 119:97 Oh, How I love your instructions. I think about them all day long.
The word says we are not to be unequally yoked*(2 Cor. 6:14) but obviously it happens. And being equally yoked isn’t a guarantee that all will be well. I believe the point is submit and surrender to God, always. If we seek His blessings we will find them.
1 Chron 28:9 “And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
Hebrews 11:6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.
