The Gift of Prayer

This week’s post is a rerun. I had gall bladder surgery and it proved to be a little more intense that I expected so instead of nothing it seemed a good idea to do this one again!! I’m trusting God that it will be timely for my readers!!

December 2019 Christmas is a time that we naturally think about gifts. I remember pouring over the Sear’s catalogue at my Grandma’s house to circle what I wanted. It was fun!!  As we get older, most of us spend much more time thinking about what to give, rather than what we hope to get.  It is our way of showing love to our peeps. That’s a good thing but before we make ourselves crazy with our preparations, let’s remember to pray for our peeps. There is no greater gift than God’s gift to us in giving His Son.

From the journal . . . August 2014

Pastor Kurt was giving his preach and he asked, “What do you want Jesus to do for you?  If you knew absolutely that Jesus would do it, What would you ask Him for?” * Immediately I thought, “That my kids and husband would be totally sold out to You.”  Someone else said, “Salvation for loved ones.” Right on!  Mr. Paul said, “That the Holy Spirit would live in me.  That’s all we need.”  He’s right and You do that.  I thought about choice.  I pondered.  And later I prayed, “God, You are in me.  It must be You prompting me to pray for my loved ones.  So I will just do that.  I will pray believing, ‘Lord, please bring about whatever it takes for them to make the best choices concerning their spiritual relationship with YOU.’” That’s my deepest prayer. For Mark, for my kids, for my bonus kids, for my grandkids, for myself.  For our siblings and their spouses, nieces, nephews, friends. 100 souls easily.  Nothing is too hard for You.  We have not because we ask not. *  God, thank You.

* Mark 10:51    Psalms 2:8    James 4:2-3

And I Believe God Said:

This is good for you to hold on to.  It is My desire to give everyone the freedom to choose.  Everyone has everything they need for life and godliness.*  They just need to choose life in and with Me. * You pray My will when you pray that.  Pray about details but you must trust Me.  You don’t understand all that is involved but pray what I give you.  And when you doubt – just confess that doubt.  It’s nothing that I can’t take care of.  Pray for them.  Hope for them.  Love them.  Pray to Me. Hope in Me.  Love Me.  And know that My love for you and them is beyond anything you can imagine.

Joshua 24:4-5.   2Peter 1:3

Oh Lord, I’m So glad You are always in my life.

  1. It was good timing! There are so many things that I could ask for, but if I had to choose one thing…
    Praying for you too Diane! For a speedy recovery with no complications – and for pain relief and vigorous health going into the new year!
    I love you and although I don’t keep track of all the texting very well, my mom and I have been thinking of you and praying for you.

    1. Judy! You little sweetie! I’m glad you liked the post!! I almost had another one ready. But when I ended up having to stay in the hospital, i just couldn’t put it together. I think the Lord gave me the idea of doing this one again. So it works, He makes things so much easy than we make them. ! Love to you and your sweet mama!!

  2. Diane, this reminds me that God never gets tired of hearing our prayers, the same things over and over! I know he is at work and I just need to continue to trust what he is doing…we never know when that final prayer will be answered! Love and prayers for you?❤
