The Rocks Would Cry Out

I have been saving this entry for almost a year.  I chose it because of Palm Sunday. Jesus’s followers wanted to honor Him as He came into Jerusalem that first Palm Sunday.  The Jewish leaders were jealous and wanted to quench their excitement, but our Lord’s response was to defend the excited crowd.

Luke 19:28-40

God has created each individual for a purpose. We must beware of casting judgment on others regarding how they wish to worship and serve Him.  Not our business.

Romans 14:4Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval.

From the journal . . . . February 1986

I had just met Sally and spent some time with her, which I really enjoyed.

Lord, Sally is exuberant but tends to turn some people off.  When I noticed this, I was tempted to carry negative thoughts concerning her.   However, in Your gracious love to her and me, You took that away before it grew and You gave us a sweet relationship.  Her exuberance is part of her personality.  And Jesus, You are something to be ‘exuberant’ about!  It’s the combination of her deep love for You and her natural personality.  O Lord. What a blessing she is!!

And I Believe God Said:

If Sally didn’t honor Me the way she does, the very rocks would cry out.

O Lord, seal that in her.  Don’t let the enemy tell her differently.  And Lord, don’t let her be hurt by people’s misunderstandings.  Thank You.  Thank – You.

I so love how the Lord responded concerning my friend.  She, and all of us, must be who God created us to be!!

Luke 19: 35 39And they brought it to Jesus, and they threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it36 Now as He was going, they were spreading their cloaks on the road. 37 And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God [q]joyfully with a loud voice for all the [r]miracles which they had seen, 38 [s]shouting:

“Blessed is the King, the One who comes in the name of the Lord;
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

39 And yet some of the Pharisees [t]in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!” 40 Jesus replied, “I tell you, if these stop speaking, the stones will cry out!”
