Thank You for Gentle Breezes

As it happens, while writing this blog, I am going through yet another time of anxiety.  It is very circumstantial, so I understand the reason for my stresses.  I think I am getting better at calling on God right away.  I also think emotions register with the body faster than the mind can adjust.  Whatever!  The Lord is always the source to turn to and the sooner the better!!

This time of anxiety occurred after I retired from teaching for 20 years.   Often, at the onset of panic, I would go outside and talk to the Lord.  He would always bring me peace, at least for a while.

From the journal. . . . September 2017

Lord, I’m calmer today.  Yesterday at around 8:00 pm I noticed a clear peace.  I love You and I know You are stronger than the enemy. He lies and wants to steal my peace, but You are God.  You are my defense.  Lord, I have a desire to understand health issues but that can be problematic at these times and can backfire, giving me more anxiety.   I love You and I look to You.  Be glorified.

It’s so nice here outside.  Thank You for the gentle breezes.  Lord, I feel closer to normal. I’m grateful and I want to learn what You want me to learn thru this, but . . .

And I Believe God Said:

Yes.  Trust Me to teach you.  I made your mind, your emotions, and your body.  I know how they work and what they do.  I am the one that oversees everything in your life.  Keep looking to Me.  Rest and be at peace.  You will continue to strive, but you must always balance that with trusting Me.  Striving isn’t bad.  I’m not mad at you, or your plans, or your many lists, but you must keep Me always before you.  I am not going to tell you every step but as you look to Me in trust, I’ll keep you on my path.

Psalm 137:30-31.  The godly offer good counsel;
    they teach right from wrong.
31 They have made God’s law their own,
    so they will never slip from his path.

Psalm 139:24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Oh, Lord.  You are good.  I really love how You are.
