It’s Pretty Simple

This week was very busy for me with life and especially family.  I love that but I felt bad about not getting my blog post out.  This evening when I looked, the first entry I came to was short and to the point.  Time isn’t an obstacle.  It’s amazing to realize that 32 years ago, when I wrote it, You, Almighty, Omnipotent God, knew that this day would come, and this entry would be just right for this week.  Thank You for Your grace and mercy to me.  I love You, Lord.

From the journal .  .  .  .  September 1990

God, make me what You want me to be. Jesus, my honest goal in life is to be very close to you.  That’s my eternal goal.  I believe I can reach  it  by being most useful to You.  Lord, is that true?

And I Believe God Said:

I love you.  You will be with Me.  You want to be closer to Me.  I want to be closer to you.  It’s not by works.  I’ve told you before.  It’s by acknowledging Me in everything.

Eph 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. NIV
Prov. 3:5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding; NKJV
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.  NKJV

Lord, I’m not hearing much more. I guess it’s pretty simple.

And so it is!   He does not require my usefulness, only my belief and acknowledgement of Him.

Gal 3:5.  I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. NLT
