I’ve Had My Doubts

A few years back I was included in a conversation from a loved one as she told me about a life decision she had decided on.  I was glad to be included but, as she suspected, I thought it was a bad decision.  She listened politely as I prayerfully explained my concerns.  The conversation went well, as far as communication goes, and I believe we both were able to express our thoughts. We parted on good terms, however, inside I was heart sick and cried out to God.

From the journal . . . . October 2019

. . . Oh Lord, please change her mind before she takes this step.  I don’t want the enemy to gain any more ground.  You, God, are the Victor.*1 The message at church yesterday reinforced the truth that we have a real enemy, but he is weaker than Almighty God. *2  I’ve had my doubts about how or if You will work in this situation. My faith is not strong, but the message helped.  One point was that ‘doubt is a part of being tempted to sin’ and ‘temptation isn’t sin’ . *3

*1 Deut 20:4 For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and He will give you victory!’ *2 1 Peter 5:8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.   *3 1 Cor 10:13. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

And I Believe God Said:

Yes.  Doubt is in opposition to faith.* The enemy taunts, “Did God really say?” * He raises doubt.  Don’t be afraid or intimidated.  Reject the doubt that undermines faith in Me.

Focus!  Look at Me!  You may, and you do, have times of questioning My direction and if you hear Me clearly.  I’ll reveal it to you. I’m never late.  Your pain never lasts longer than is necessary, except by your own choice.

James 1:6. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  NIV  Genesis 3:1  The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” NLT

Lord.  So good!  Thank You for Your words. Thank You for Your just right revelation.  You are so faithful and good to me.
