3 John1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. NIV
My sentiments exactly!! I wrote this entry in my journal after hearing a wonderful praise report about one of my sons. The Lord’s response brought more joy.
From the journal . . . . March 2018
A friend had encouraged my son prophetically about his recent preach. I later texted a thanks to my friend and he was very encouraging to me as well. I was having such joy in the Spirit!
Lord, thank You for this Holy Spirit joy! It is so, so good! I adore You, Lord! Thank You for such a son! Please protect him from pride and lies of the enemy. God, who am I that I can have children that I need not be ashamed of? Faithful, faithful God! Gracious God. Whew. Wow Lord!
And I Believe God Said:
I am who I am. Didn’t I tell you that I choose gladly to give you the kingdom? *
Luke 12:32. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom. NASB 1995
When you and your mom prayed for your children, I heard you. When you surrendered them to Me, I heard. Every prayer.
Encourage young moms to pray for their children. Pray they would commit to pray and continue praying, putting more effort into prayer and less into controlling their children’s lives.
1 Thess 5:16-18 Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. NASB
Phil 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. NIV
Eph 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. NIV
Keep Me always before you. Keep Me always as the King to be worshipped, obeyed, and adored.
This word confirmed what the Lord had urged me to for many years. My two older kids were respectively three and six months old when I responded to God’s call to me. He taught me to pray for them and never ever let up from that point on. When my youngest, twin boys, were around eight, the Lord prompted me to find prayer verses for the five kids, my husband and me. I started writing the verses down so I could pray them daily. Each month I ask the Lord for new verses for each member of my family. And I pray. And pray. And pray.
My kids aren’t perfect and have had their struggles but the joy they bring me is beyond what I could have imagined. I am so very grateful but cautious. I know this is the work of the Lord. A verse from hymn I love says:
I will not boast in anything
No gifts no pow’r no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom *
