What God Likes to See

As many of you know, I love God’s creation!  My latest idiosyncrasy is getting up at 4:15am so I can see the sunrise on the waterfront!  I am always impacted by God’s great love for us that is displayed in His creation!  The Grand Canyon is always awe inspiring to me and no less on this particular trip!!

From the journal . . . . August 1994

Lord, as I see the beauty on earth here in Arizona, I wonder if You are pleased to view it again with me, to revisit what You’ve made and how it has ‘evolved.’

And I Believe God Said:

Not as much as I enjoy seeing My people become more like Jesus, in their own way.  Look for growth and maturity in others. Peace is one fruit.  Love, joy, patience, and endurance are other visible fruits.

Gal 5:22-23 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Those are natural responses as a person draws closer to Me and more like Jesus.  Take on more and more Holy Spirit and less human spirit.

1 Cor 6:19-20  Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

The beauty of the human spirit is from the saturation of the Holy Spirit.  The human spirit that seeks independence from the Holy Spirit is what must be conquered.  At that time the Holy Spirit can occupy the former space.

Matt 12:43  “When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from.’ So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order.

The third member of the Trinity is the biggest mystery to me. However, I realize He is the most intimate person of the Trinity. He lives within us, working in us to accomplish God’s will. When I pray, “Lord, I want more of You and less of me,” I want Him, His Holy Spirit, to take over my human spirit.  As He does, I become more like Him!

12 Cor 3:18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.

  1. I wish I had you energy to get up and see the sunrise. It does lead us to believe in God more fully. The heavens declare the Glory of the Lord.

    1. You are so right Kris! It leads me to believe, love, trust and praise Him more! Even as I take unscheduled cat naps during the day. The days will get shorter now so the sunrise will gradually get later!!
