I sometimes wonder what my life would be like if God hadn’t stepped in when He did. Every life has its share of easy times and hard times, but sometimes it does seem like things go easier for those who aren’t making God a priority.
Psalm 73:3-5 For I envied the proud when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness.
4 They seem to live such painless lives; their bodies are so healthy and strong. 5 They don’t have troubles like other people; they’re not plagued with problems like everyone else.
All I have though, is gratitude to God for bringing me to Himself.
From the journal . . . . October 2021
Jesus, thank You for my life. Oh Lord, thank You for coming into my life when You did. I wonder about the easy life without You as opposed to the Jesus life with challenges. I never want to leave You and I’m grateful for Your leading in my life. I believe the hard times brought me closer to You. You certainly have spoken to me during hard times.
And I Believe God Said:
People have hard times. Some don’t consider me without those times. I use my people to relate to them. You love me, but apart from that precious distinction, you are much like everyone else. When you were lost you tried your own way, your own strength, and you considered yourself strong. You could’ve made it, you could’ve survived and had a happy life, until you died and went to hell.
You had to be humbled. You had to free up that hand of strength to reach for Me. When you really saw Me after you made that intentional decision, it was love at first sight for you! I have always loved you. You knew it when we smiled at the oak table in your living room. From then until eternity we are together, through the hard times and the good times until it’s only good.
I remember so clearly that day at the oak table in my house. I must have been reading and pondering His word and loved what I was learning. I looked up and just smiled at this invisible God that I had committed to months earlier. I felt Him smile and I smiled back, and He smiled and I smiled, and that went on until I was laughing. This may sound corny, but it is a happy memory of our romance!
