You Have Been Redeemed

Have you ever thought about the variety of moods you experience in a day?  True, some days your feelings are more consistent, but on other days they are actually more like a roller coaster. It’s good to remember God is the one who has created our hearts, minds, and souls, including our emotions.

During this time with Jesus, my mood was reflective.  I was peaceful but thinking about not-peaceful times.

From the journal . . . . June 2023

Lord, when I have been discouraged about my ungrateful attitude or persistent temptations to be jealous or resentful, I often attempt to think my way out of the pit, give myself a hearty pep talk, or perhaps a stern talking to against the brain fights. But nothing compares with taking it directly to You, God. I am amazed when, all of a sudden, the bad feeling is gone.

Matthew 11:28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. NLT

It helps to confess to the Lord and remember that I’ve turned from the sin involved. However, ultimately, You Lord, are the One I call on to relieve me of wrong thinking. And I know it is You that takes it away. I know You have forgiven my sin and are not holding it against me. You take my shame away and I must believe it’s gone!

1 John 1:9 But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. NLT

Psalm 22:4-5 Our ancestors trusted in You,
    and You rescued them.
They cried out to You and were saved.
They trusted in You and were never disgraced.
NLT

And I believe God said:

Yes. It is finished. Keep confessing and exposing the devil’s lies.

(Jesus talking to the religious leaders) John 8:44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. NLT

When the temptation to jealously or resentment comes, turn to Me. Remind yourself that the old man is dead.

Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. NKJV

You have been born again. No shame. You have been redeemed.

Psalm 111:9 He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever: Holy and awesome is His name. NKJV

Eph 1:7-8 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, NIV

Job 19:25 Yet as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last, He will take His stand on the earth NASB

Rebuke the evil one’s lies. Say it out loud. Just say of his accusations, “No. That’s not me.”

James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. NLT

1 Pet 5:8-9b Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. NLT

Rev. 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last— salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth— the one who accuses them before our God day and night. NLT

OK Lord. Thank You. Your ways are always helpful and true.
