We Are Risen

The Lord has been very generous to speak to me in my journals for decades.  My process in selecting what to publish is somewhat systematic and, of course, the question of when to publish can be overwhelming.  As always, I have to trust the Lord.  Sometimes I am better at this than at other times.

This entry is about as current as it gets!!!

From the journal . . . . April 2025

Lord, this is Good Friday! I’ve been looking at possibilities for this week’s blog entry and, Jesus, nothing seems right for Easter.  Most of what I’m seeing is my bummer after bummer situations and attitudes and Your gracious encouragements, which of course is real life.  Oh Lord, I hate to go with my personal little problems as I think of what You went through on the day of Your crucifixion.

And I Believe God Said:

What was this time about? The Friday I was crucified  My disciples didn’t understand that I had to be the sacrifice required to pay the price of their sin, rebellion, and rejection. All have rejected the Lord God Almighty.  All!

Luke 18:31-34 31 Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things which are written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. 32 For He will be [b]handed over to the Gentiles, and will be mocked and mistreated and spit upon, 33 and after they have scourged Him, they will kill Him; and the third day He will rise again.” 34 But the disciples understood none of these things, and the meaning of this statement was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend the things that were said.
Romans 3:9-11, 23
What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin; 10 as it is written,
“There is none righteous, not even one;
11 There is none who understands,
There is none who seeks for God;
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

My Father made this earth, the earth you love so much. He designed everything with His people in mind.  The garden was paradise in every way and yet man turned away from God.

Sin came in and paradise was polluted forever.

Genesis 1-3

When I came as the only begotten of the Father, many received and believed.  I brought hope to the world when it was so dark and lost.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His [a]only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

As I rode into Jerusalem they cheered and praised God!!  Not just because a renowned miracle worker came to town, but because many believed I was God’s deliverer for His people.  I rejoiced in that because My Father was being praised. The King of kings!

Triumphant Entry. Mark 11:1-10

Then I was crucified to pay for the sins of My people. And the church crashed.

They were crushed but not for long.  Sunday morning when I was resurrected that tiny seed of faith found the light!  God had won the victory.

Sin is a bummer, and all your bummer entries are a result of sin.   Rejoice now!  You know Me and I am the one who defeated sin and death.   We are risen!!!
