Ask God for Confirmation pt. 1

I don’t know what was going on at this time, but I assume the Lord had something specific that He wanted to say to me before I even got to my journal time.

From the journal . . . . May 1999

Lord, You spoke to me already when I began to pray.

This is what I believe You Said:

I allow My people to choose.  I allow them to make choices.

John 6:67-68 Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, “Are you also going to leave?”
68 Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.
Josh 24:15a  But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve.
1 Chron 21:10 “Go and say to David, ‘This is what the Lord says: I will give you three choices. Choose one of these punishments, and I will inflict it on you.’”
NASB

I allow them to make wrong choices, and I allow them to suffer the consequences.

1 Samuel 8:6-9 But the thing was displeasing in the sight of Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” And Samuel prayed to the Lord. The Lord said to Samuel, “Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them. Like all the deeds which they have done since the day that I brought them up from Egypt even to this day—in that they have forsaken Me and served other gods—so they are doing to you also. Now then, listen to their voice; however, you shall solemnly warn them and tell them of the procedure of the king who will reign over them.”
Continue on to 1 Sam 8: 10-18 for the consequences of having a king.

Genesis 13 Lot chose the lusher well-watered land in hopes to prosper, but eventually it was destroyed for its wickedness.

Sometimes I intervene and sometimes I just watch. There are trials and tests.  Not because I don’t know how you will do, but because you don’t know.  However, nothing comes into your life without My knowledge.

Psalm 139:1-4
O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.
You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
Even before there is a word on my tongue,
Behold, O Lord, You know it all.

Luke 12:6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

You live among people and because you get involved with them you suffer the consequences of their sin and their wrong choices.  My hand is in that also.

Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

You can trust Me.  I know you.  I am looking out for My people as well as the unbelieving world.  Your sin is still active, and consequences will follow, but you are clean.  I have saved you and you are Mine.  We have eternity.

John 10:27-28.  My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.NASB

Look to Me daily. Be honest in your confession and trust Me to deal with the sin that comes out.

Interestingly, today, about twenty-six years later, I was reading in Jeremiah 14 about lying prophets who speak lies.  It caused me to question the words that I believe God has spoken to me and so we had a conversation about that.  It is too long to include with this entry, but I do want to include a specific instruction that I believe He gave me to say to you!!

Remind your people to ask Me to confirm your words to them personally.

Next week I will publish the rest of it.

  1. I agree, confirmation is so important, the thing that is hard, is sometimes you have to wait longer than you want for it! 😊❤️
