Short and to the Point

I wondered about posting this journal entry because it is so short.  Considering it is regarding time or the lack thereof, maybe this is intended as a gift to the reader! Short and to the point!  It doesn’t seem to take God as many words to express Himself and on this day, I didn’t need many words either.

From the journal . . . . September 1998

It sure seems to take me a long time to pray.  Lord, teach me to listen.  I’ve gotten sort of automatic again.

I assumed that my prayer time before work wasn’t supposed to take as long as it did. I also assumed the fault was mine.  I felt I was just going through the motions with prayer verses as well. I sought the Lord for direction and His wisdom.

Proverbs 2:4-5 If you seek her as silver. And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will discern the fear of the Lord And discover the knowledge of God.

And I Believe God Said:

My grace is on you.  My divine influence is on your heart.  I am in you.

John 1:16 For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

Eph 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,

Keep praying and listen.  Read My Word and listen.  Live in My world and listen.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

Psalm 19:1 The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.

Luke 9:35. Then a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, My Chosen One; listen to Him!”

Walk in My ways according to My nature.

Prov 8:32 “Now therefore, O sons, listen to me,
For blessed are they who keep my ways.

He listens to us when we call on Him.  His responses are directly to our hearts because He knows us intimately.  These words aren’t restricted to prayer time, and they certainly aren’t just for me.  Ask Him to make Himself known to you in a deeper way than ever before. He will do it!
