Significance in Each Encounter

When God works a thing in your life, He wants you to share it with others. We are in this walk together, as His children, and hard things are never wasted when He’s involved.  We are to share with others, the failures and the successes, as He gives us opportunities.

I have a friend who has often said, “You can be a good example to someone or a dire warning!”  We all need both in our lives.

From the journal . . . . October 2005

Lord, I am compelled by Your love.  A lot has happened since yesterday, and today is the women’s retreat.  I need time with You.  I long to know You better.

Lord, what do You want me to share with the women at the retreat?

And God Said to Me:

Tenacity.  They, like you, need courage and determination to keep going.  That’s what you do in your life.  You hope and keep going.

God, I want You, more of You.  I long for more knowledge of You.

You long for what you have.  Keep longing though and trust that I am doing it.  Rest in Me but keep walking and searching.

You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13).

You have no reason to fear. There’s nothing you are going to mess up that I can’t fix.  Each woman coming to the retreat is significant, as is everyone you encounter.  Each person is important to Me. I can cause significance in each encounter.  Take My light to the world. Be My servant.  Look to Me.  Look at them and love them because I do.

Jesus!  How faithful, trustworthy, and good You are!

We are all called to love one another.  That’s our commission.  Each of us has a role to play with the people in our lives.

“Return to your house and describe what great things God has done for you.” So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him (Luke 8:39 ).

My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness
And of Your salvation all day long;
For I do not know the sum of them
(Psalm 71:15).

Come and hear, all who fear God,
And I will tell of what He has done for my soul
(Psalm 66:16).

Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples.
2 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
Speak of all His wonders
(Psalm 105:1-2).

  1. Good thoughts Diane. People should be able to see God in us but if we don’t tell others about him they may not know what they are looking at.
