A Thing Called a Blog

At the time of this writing there wasn’t any such thing as a “blog”. In fact, the general public didn’t even have access to the internet until the 1990’s! When I wrote this entry, I had no idea that twenty-plus years later I’d put it out there for others to read in a thing called “A Blog”.  At the time I didn’t have clear direction of what I was to do with God’s Personal Words to me, but I knew He wanted me to put them in the computer.  Frequently there were times that I felt He wanted me to share what He said to me with others and I gladly did! I almost always shared with my mom/mentor!

From the Journal . . . . July 2002

O Lord, I want You.  You speak to me and I tell about Your words.  Jesus, I don’t ever want to speak falsely.  You are so justified to condemn those who lie about Your words.  I feel like I could be in danger because I love to encourage people but not to condemn, so I’m afraid I may water down Your words.  Oh, help me be more like You. You were gentle with sinners but tough on religious hypocrites.  Help me to speak what is right but not be judgmental.  I desperately need to clearly hear what You say. Lord, I also know that I have to be careful about saying “the Lord spoke.”

And I believe the Lord Said:

Yes, be careful!  But you must trust Me as I’ve told you.  Don’t clam up and don’t stop.  Pay attention to your motives.  Beware of seeking men’s approval and fearing scorn.

The fear of man brings a snare,
But one who trusts in the Lord will be protected (Proverbs 29:25)
.

but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not intending to please people, but to please God, who examines our hearts (1Thes. 2:4).

Seek Me and listen to My voice.  Be a good sheep.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.   (John 10:27-29)

Honor Me and study My words in the Bible, in creation, and by My spirit that lives in you.  Fear Me with a holy fear but act and speak in love.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse (Romans 1:20).

What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us (1 Cor 2:12).

If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well  (Gal 5:25).

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires (Romans 8:5).

Oh Lord, I am concerned about what people think of me, but I should only be concerned about my heart following You and not men.

But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, even now I say again: if anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! (Gal 1:8-9)

For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ (Gal 1:10).

What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us (1 Cor 2:12).
