Have you ever been really excited about a loving gesture that someone performed for you, only to find out that someone, who was sort of a rival, had put them up to it? Ouch! This is what had happened to keep me up late the night of this entry.
Sorry about the vagueness but it is necessary to protect the not so innocent!
From the journal . . . March 2015
I was struggling with some relational jealousies from an incident that happened at church. This was a late-night entry.
And God said to me:
Rest in Me and sleep. You have confessed your jealous resentment and I forgive. You have done your part.
Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others (Colossian 3:13).
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Keep loving and confess again when necessary. Look to Me always. Pray for your rival and for all involved. Pray for your children and grandchildren, and your other friend. Look for opportunities to help.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord (Acts:3:19 ).
I was hurt and annoyed by what had happened at church, but I was also very disappointed in myself for letting it get to me. After confessing and repenting He did indeed give me rest!
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).
